Project Overview
Kmart Australia's staff engagement mobile app was one of XAM Consulting's early projects. They were tasked to improve the daily operations of the biggest store in Australia.
As part of my personal development in this company, I was tasked to revamp the mobile app and adapt it to modern design.
Role
Senior User Interface Designer

Challenge
The challenges I faced during the creation of the user interface is that I do not have enough information about the product. The only information I have is from the company's website.
As for the User Interface, it does not follow any design system guidelines such as Apple's Human Interface Guidelines or Google's Material Design. (See the old screens above)
Approach
-
Established a design system to make the UI consistent all throughout the app.
-
Followed Apple's Human Interface Guidelines as the foundation of the User Interface. Research shows that 53% of Australians are using iOS devices.

Results
The user interface of the app is now more modern-look and its user experience (if this project will push through) has increased. The dashboard screen has now better navigation and it can be easily navigate using one-hand.
My objective, while I was creating this project, is to make it as clean as possible without hurting its purpose. I used Proxima Nova as its main font for the app because it shows a balance between modern and professionalism. With the colors, I used the brand colors that are available in the logo.
As a conclusion, I had fun doing this exercise. With Figma's awesome way of doing prototypes, I was able to come up with this wonderful product.
